It's an election year, and over the next several months we will hear about what so and so did and why they're not fit for this or that. Then of course so and so will come back with why the person that said they weren't fit, really isn't fit...blah blah blah

Some Montanans love to get down into the dirt and throw mud at those that disagree with them.

Now, this isn't a one sided thing, both sides do it. They complain about how the other side is out of touch, vote for their party, and nothing changes. I bring all of this up not because I'm trying to persuade you one way or the other, I would never assume to have that type of pull. I bring it up because according to one source, a lot of Montanans are hurting right now financially.

How many Montanans are struggling right now?

According to the Montana Free Press, 61 percent of registered Montana voters are struggling with gas prices right now. Struggling as in figuring out how to pay for them. The interesting part? Last year that percentage was 34 percent.

So, in one year, we have almost doubled according to the data. I get it, I went to fill up my vehicle a few weeks back and it was a hundred bucks, which is double of what I'm used to paying.

Then there is the housing market. Buying a home in Montana is something that a lot of Montanans, including myself can't afford. Granted, I live in Bozeman where a starter home is 600 thousand dollars.

Why are so many Montanans in financial need?

So, yes, many Montanans are struggling to make ends meet, not because of poor life choices or something they did wrong, but because the cost of living is hurting many of the states residents.

However, as mentioned above, it's an election year, so, will Montanans go to the poll and make a change?

Probably not.
