Montana’s New App Makes License Access A Breeze
It's Time To Install/Update Your Montana FWP App
Even hunting is in the app business. Now savvy Montana hunters can say goodbye to paper tags, buying and storing licenses in one place. You can even use the app where there's no cell service.
How Do I Get The Montana Fish Wildlife And Parks App?
You can grab the Montana MyFWP app in both the Google Play store and your Apple store.
After downloading our updating your app you should:
- Log into or create a MyFWP account
- Link your ALS account to an existing MyFWP account
- Store and view fishing and hunting licenses and permits even when out of cell service
A Few Things To Note When Using The MyFWP App
- You need to choose between a paper tag or an E-tag. You can't choose both and you can't change your mind once one has been chosen
- The app stores licenses and permits for the prior year and the current year
- You can use the app when out of service IF you open it before you lose cell service and keep it open
- Validation of an E-Tag is final, just like notching a paper tag
- Parents and guardians can link youth MyFWP accounts to theirs
It's still perfectly legal to carry the paper tags if technology makes you nervous. The video below explains everything really well, but it comes down to 2 things for this to be an effective alternative:
- Your phone needs to be fully charged and on airplane mode
- You remember to log in BEFORE you leave for hunting
