Thanksgiving. The only holiday in America solely dedicated to food: eating way too much and the enjoying every second of it.

In the craziness that is lovingly referred to as the holiday season, it's easy to forget your kid's favorite pie or Grandma's favorite kind of cranberries. Up until about 2020, that just meant a quick trip to the store.

Now, that means going without that particular item for Thanksgiving unless you want to pay 3-5 times the price at a convenience store, and that's if they even have it.

I'm Happy To See America Go In This Direction For The Holidays

As nice as it is to be able to run to the store and get the eggs, pie, cranberry, butter... whatever it is we forgot to get the week before. It's nice that my favorite cashier is spending the holiday with her family. I can easily wait another day to go Christmas shopping so the clerks at my favorite stores can spend the day with family and friends and actually look forward to the holidays instead of dreading the nightmare that they can be, especially for people in customer service.
