Big Name Coming to World Famous Bucking Horse Sale

Montana is pretty well known to be one big scenic landscape to take in.  And while that is most certainly true, there are some other cool things that the state has to offer your eyes and ears.  Like annual events that are known near and far.

One of those major events happens in the spring in Miles City, Montana and brings travelers from across the state, country and world to this small western town.  Think Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, but with horses.  The Miles City World Famous Bucking Horse Sale is set for 2026.

Time to Mark Your Calendar for the World-Famous Bucking Horse Sale

The first official sale dates back to 1951 in Miles City, and according to the official website of the event, it really hasn't changed a lot over the nearly 75 years:

The Bucking Horse Sale of today continues some of the exact same events it started with years ago. While some aspects have grown over the years, the original intent and western heritage remain in the production today.

The 75th Anniversary of the World-Famous Bucking Horse Sale is coming on May 14th, 2026.  The event features not just the sale of the bucking horses, but also several other can't miss activities including:

• Mutton Busting for kids
• Wild horse races
• World Class PRCA Match Bronc rides

One special highlight will be the kickoff night, featuring musical entertainment from another world-class artist, with two special guests hitting the stage for the evening.

Big Name Coming to World Famous Bucking Horse Sale

Featured musical entertainment for the sale this year will come in the form of 3 acts performing on the stage:

• Kenny Feidler - Opening Entertainer
• Corb Lund - Direct Support Act

The featured headliner this year will be country music artist Trace Adkins.  The performer and over 20-year Grand Ole Opry member will bring favorites such as "Honkytonk Budonkadonk", "Every Light in the House" and more to the stage beginning at 8:30pm.
