When mention of the Montana town of Butte comes up in a conversation, it is probably revolving around the March festivities of Saint Patrick's Day celebrations.  I mean, the parade is pretty famous.

But Butte has also been the home to another huge party since 2008 each summer in July.  And it is about time to dust off the boots again for this impressive festival in the Mining City.

National Folk Festival Turns into The Montana Folk Festival

Originally the National Folk Festival in 2008-2010, the Montana Folk Festival will be hosted in Butte on July 11-13, 2025.  The three-day festival features traditional music, dance, art and cuisine.

This year over 250 performers with 20 different musical groups will be performing at the festival.  Plus, festival goers will have a marketplace to attend:

Up to 50 traditional artists and craft vendors will be hosted in the festival’s two marketplaces: the Montana Traditions Arts Market and the nearby First Peoples’ Market that will feature Native American artists and craftspeople.

Economic Impact Huge to Butte and Montana Tourism

According to the Montana Folk Festival website the festival continues to generate a huge economic impact for the area:

As the festival has made the transition in 2011 to the Montana Folk Festival, the economic impact has continued at about $25 million a year throughout the region.
