Great Falls Coffee Lovers Have One Less Choice Come August

Over the last couple of years, I have been attending Cars and Coffee in Great Falls, Montana because it has two of my favorite things; cars and coffee.  As such, I've hit quite a few of our local coffee shops on those Saturday mornings.

Of them, one of my favorites is Karma Coffee Brewing Co. for their cinnamon chai latte.  But it looks likes I am going to have to have a new favorite on those chilly weekend mornings to warm the body.  Karma owners Kevin and Kody have announced they will be closing soon in the Electric City.

Local Owners Cite More Shops and Cost of Doing Business for Closure in Great Falls

Through social media, the owners of Karma Coffee Brewing Co. said that in the last couple of years, the market has become almost flooded with new coffee shop choices.  The business also faced challenges with a major street construction project on 6th Street in 2025, limiting customers access to get their favorite cup of joe.

Owners Kevin and Kody stated that " it's become harder and harder for local shops like ours to make the numbers work and we've reached a point where it's time for us to move on to new opportunities and new goals."

I am Hoping for One Last Stop on August 1, 2026, for Cars and Coffee in Great Falls

The final day for the coffee shop will be on August 1st, 2026, in Great Falls.  Karma said that if you have a gift card, please use it before that date, as they will no longer honor them after it.  "We've got five weeks left. Closing Karma sucks. There's really no fancy way to say that.  So, if you've ever been a Karma customer, stop by, grab your favorite drink, bring your dog, we'd love to see you one more time."

It does suck.  Another local Great Falls business gone.  Since Cars and Coffee meets on the first and third Saturdays of each month, I am hoping I have the opportunity to stop by and grab one last cinnamon chai latte.  And even though it's summer, I am hopeful that the morning is a cooler one, making that last sip delectable. albeit a little bittersweet.
