2025 is finally in the rear-view mirror, and as such, many agencies are releasing close of the year numbers and data reflecting what the year held.  It also offers the chance to perhaps calculate what 2026 may hold in store.

In the case of the Great Falls Fire Rescue and the Emergency crews, I hope those statistics have absolutely no bearing in 2026.  That hope extends to them finally being able to catch their breath after what seems to me to be an exhausting year.

Another Busy Year for Great Falls Fire Rescue in 2025

I live in what I would consider one of the busier areas of the city in the just out of downtown realm.  The avenues of 1st South through 2nd North and the one-way streets of 14th and 15th.  We hear an abundance of sirens, day or night, week or weekend.  But I didn't realize just how often those sirens go off.  Or even ones we don't hear.

For the year 2025, the Great Falls Fire Rescue answered nearly 7,000 Operations Division calls for service.  Of those calls, some of the major numbers include:

  • EMS calls: 4629 (66.58%)

  • Fire Response Calls: 594 (8.54%)

Other calls answered included good intent calls and "special incident found" calls to the Operations Division.

It Isn't Just About Rescuing Neighborhood Cats from Trees Either

In addition to those nearly 7,000 calls to the Operations Division, the GFFR also keeps the city of Great Falls safe by fire certifications for businesses.  In 2025, the Fire Prevention Bureau wraps up the year busy also.

  • Fire and Life Safety Inspections Completed: 2918
  • Fire Alarm Systems Accepted: 31
  • Mobile Food Vendor Inspections: 31

Again, I have to say a big thank you to our Great Falls Fire Rescue individuals, and to all of the emergency personnel that accompanied them to keep our city safe and protected.  Here is to a really, really slow year for all of you.
