Officials in Wolf Point Issue Statement on New Covid Restrictions
It is a little hard to believe that we are just a couple of months past the 6-year anniversary of Covid-19 changing our lives back in January of 2020. Since that time, there have been several new variations of the disease that have arisen.
While the disease isn't making the headlines nearly as much as it used too, it is still causing problems worldwide and even in Montana. Especially in the Northeast part of the state, on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

Officials in Wolf Point Issue Statement on New Covid Restrictions
Northeast Montana Health Services (NMHS), which operates on the reservation in both Wolf Point and Poplar, Montana has recently alerted residents of both communities about a rise in Covid cases across the area.

NMHS offers services at two critical access hospitals, two family clinics and long-term care facilities within the reservation. As such, officials with the group are announcing limitations on visitation at the Faith Lutheran Home.
What Limitations are in Place on the Northeast Montana Reservation?
NMHS stated the reason behind the limitations include "an abundance of caution and due to confirmed COVID cases" and to "reduce transmission risk while continuing to honor resident rights and maintain essential visitation access in accordance with CMS regulations".
The new temporary limitations include the following:
- limited visitation for outside group and non-essential visitors until March 3, 2026
- essential visitation continues with masking and testing
- visitors asked to postpone if showing any symptoms
- staff and visitors may be required to mask in certain areas
- enhanced cleaning and monitoring procedures in place
- residents who test positive are isolated
