Montana Shoppers Warned Over Rice Recall

Mistakes happen and in most cases, it takes a lot for someone to admit when they've committed a wrongdoing. For companies, this can happen in the form of a recall and recently, a popular rice company issued a voluntarily recall because of what could be a dangerous situation for consumers.

Ben's Original Announces Voluntarily Recall For Ready Rice

For those on the go all the time or with limited time to eat at work, a quick meal is always the way to go. Ben's Original recently announced, however, that batches of their ready rice have been contaminated with "small stones."

"Ben's Original is initiating a voluntary recall in the United States on a limited number of Ben's Original Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown, and Long Grain & Wild Ready Rice products due to the possible presence of small, naturally occurring stones originating from the rice farm," the official recall notice reads.

"These small stones pose possible risk of oral or digestive tract injury if consumed."

Yikes!

Which Products Were Affected By The Rice Recall?

For folks in Great Falls, the affected rice would have been sold in Target or online on Amazon.

According to the recall notice, the recall includes:

• Ben's Original Ready Rice Long Grain White Rice

  • Batch Code: 534ALGRV22, Best By Date: 8/2026

• Ben's Original Ready Rice Whole Grain Brown Rice
  • Batch Code: 534AMGRV22, Best By Date: 8/2026

  • Batch Code: 534DMGRV22, Best By Date: 8/2026

• Ben’s Original Ready Rice Long Grain & Wild Rice

It's important to note that these are the only affected batches and thankfully, there are no reports of injuries or illness related to the recall.
