Assault Rifle, according to the dictionary is defined as:

  • a rapid-fire, magazine-fed automatic rifle designed for infantry use.

If I am reading that correctly, that means that it is a rifle that can shoot multiple bullets in succession with a single retraction of the trigger.  These weapons are designed to be used by the military in combat situations.

Even though the definition is pretty clear, some members of the government continue to try and lump all guns into the category of assault rifle. Recently President Biden has, once again, called for the ban of all Assault “Style” Rifles. That is correct, the President as well as many members of Congress have been adding the work “Style” to Assault Rifle. So, I looked up the definition for Assault “Style” Rifles and here is what I found:

  • .

That is correct, nothing.  There isn’t a definition because there isn’t an Assault “Style” Rifle.  Many politicians have been referring to an AR-15 as an assault rifle.  According to Wikipedia, the AR stands for ArmaLite. So once again, some politicians think the American public is not very smart and that when they say the AR means assault rifle, everyone will believe them.

This article is not about who should or who should not own a gun.  It is obvious that there are individuals in our society that are dealing with mental issues and having access to a weapon is generally unwise. This article is a reminder that as a citizen of a free country we need to think for ourselves, do our own research and then make decisions based off of the information we have gathered.  Stop letting out employees (elected officials) tell us what to think and do all of the time.
