There is so much that we, as the people of Great Falls, take for granted every day. For example, many of us have kids and loved ones who like to enjoy the simple pleasures our community offers us: parks, friendly neighborhoods, etc.

Our loved ones stroll these places, our kids play around them. It's nice to know that we can feel good about that, isn't it?

Cascade County Sex Offender Operation

Great Falls PD, Cascade County Sheriff's Office, United States Marshal Service - District of Montana, Montana Department of Corrections, and the Montana Department of Justice all joined forces for a special operation to make sure sex offenders in the county were compliant.

So they teamed up to make in-person contact with every registered sex offender living in Cascade County to make sure their info was correct and to make sure they've all been following the rules.

How Safe Is Great Falls From Sex Offenders?

Is Great Falls safe from sex offenders? From the report from Great Falls PD, it sure looks like it is! Statistically speaking at least.

Out of 232 total offenders, just 8 individuals were non-compliant or had active arrest warrants according to their data. That's only 3.4% and that's not necessarily on the fault of law enforcement anyway; it's up to the offenders to follow the rules.

Considering that, that's a pretty solid number. Even then, authorities are actively taking next steps to round up those 8.

Continuing with the numbers, 199 total were in compliance with 18 others incarcerated, six who moved out of the county, and one who is deceased.

Law Enforcement Appreciation

People can say what they want about law enforcement but as a parent who does his best to keep his eyes on his kiddos and keep them safe, it's nice to know we have law enforcement helping us out, watching our backs.
