Billings Police Release More Information About House Fire, Shooting Tragedy

Hearts across Montana are heavy today as information surrounding the horrific housefire and shooting that took place on Sunday night.

Billings police have officially released more details surrounding the terrible tragedy that claimed the lives of multiple victims in Billings that included multiple children.

In a post shared by Billings police, we learned the extent of this heartbreaking incident.

"First and foremost, we extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones affected by this unimaginable tragedy," Billings police said in their statement.

"We also recognize the profound impact this incident has had on our entire community. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected during this incredibly difficult time."

In their release, investigators revealed they believe there to be eight victims total: "four juveniles and four adults." Officials say they are doing what they can to "safely recover their remains."

Officials said the incident took place at 315 White Star Circle in Yellowstone County.

Law enforcement also shared in their release that they're approaching the investigation with caution as the structural integrity of the home is questionable to say the least.

They emphasized that their investigation and recovery efforts will be done "carefully and methodically."

Authorities announced more information would be revealed in a follow-up media press conference that will take place on Wednesday, August 26th, though a time has not yet been announced.

"To protect the integrity of this ongoing investigation and the recovery efforts currently underway, no additional information will be released at this time," Billings PD said.

"Additional information will be provided at tomorrow's media conference as it becomes available and is appropriate for release."
