A New Locally Owned Restaurant Opens In Great Falls

If you love good food, this is a pretty great time to be living in Great Falls.

Yes, we have plenty of chain restaurants on the way, but there is also a new locally owned spot that just opened, and it is definitely worth checking out.

What You Need To Know About Xochitl Cocina & Tequila

Xóchitl Cocina & Tequila has officially opened its doors in the old Bert & Ernie’s location.

It is pronounced “So-Chill,” which honestly feels very on brand once you step inside. They are serving up Mexican food with a more modern twist, both in flavor and overall vibe.

On the menu you will find a solid lineup of tacos, including shrimp, sirloin, and chicken, along with specialty cocktails that makes the place feel like where you go to just hang out, not rush through a meal.

Xóchitl Is Blending Mexican And Montana Flavors

Dessert is where things get really interesting. Xóchitl blends Mexican and Montana flavors with their Pan de Elote. It is a homemade corn cake topped with ice cream and finished with a huckleberry glaze, which brings a little Big Sky flair to the plate.

Speaking with KRTV, Rudy Nunez, the director of operations for Xóchitl, explained why they chose Great Falls.

"We decided to join because we felt like Great Falls needed this," Nunez told KRTV. "We wanted to be a part of the community. So, we're here, and we're happy to be here."

Xóchitl Cocina & Tequila adds another solid option to the already tasty lineup of Mexican restaurants in Great Falls, which you can check out in the gallery below.
