It also means an excuse to party and celebrate the year that we're leaving behind, and it turns out one of the best New Year's Eve celebrations is just a short drive from the Montana border.

The publication USA Today is constantly putting out a Top 10 list that they call "10Best," in which they first nominate 20 events, foods, and destinations, along with many more from all over America.

This time they are highlighting the best New Year's Eve parties in America, and of course Times Square is on that list and will probably take the top spot, but there is another big party that happens right next door to Montana that might be an even better and more unique party to attend.

Forget A Ball Drop At This Party

When it comes to a fun and different kind of New Year's Eve party, you'll find it happening in Boise, Idaho.

Instead of a ball drop like you'll see at Times Square in New York City, in Boise, they drop a glowing potato.
