Why It’s Hard To Crown Montana’s Best Mac & Cheese
When it comes to mac & cheese, naming one the best over another is a pretty hard task.
With so many different ways to prepare it, it becomes harder to pinpoint who is making the best.
That also might be why we've got two competing opinions from two different "experts" as to who is dishing up the best mac & cheese in the Treasure State.
Kalispell’s DeSoto Grill
Our first selection comes from The Daily Meal, who says you need to travel to Kalispell to eat at the Desoto Grill.
Local coverage certifies the mac and cheese at Desoto Grill in Kalispell as a Montana must for locals and visitors. Available as a side or main course, this eatery's mac and cheese is all the more tempting for its numerous incarnations. Beyond the traditional Desoto Mac, varieties on the menu include the addition of jalapeño, smoky bacon, and spicy hot link.
Miles City’s Black Iron Grill
On the other hand, LoveFood says the best mac & cheese in Montana is found in Miles City at the Black Iron Grill & Rotisserie.
Miles City spot Black Iron Grill is famous for serving the tastiest mac 'n' cheese in Montana, made with a three-cheese sauce, curly cavatappi pasta, and breadcrumbs. The best part is that you can add spicy sausage, shrimp, steak, rotisserie chicken, or crispy chicken to make the dish even more flavorful.
Of course, these aren’t the only Montana restaurants serving up mouthwatering mac & cheese, as you can see in the gallery below.
